Language command is not about accuracy that causes speech to go slow and unnatural out of self-monitoring it too rigidly in order to be correct; language command is about fluency that causes speech to go normal and manages to convey messages well logically and organizedly despite possible detected grammatical mistakes that don’t hamper others’ understanding at all. The principle here is that at the end of the day, English is only a tool. It’s not a skill anymore. Encourage your students to be whatever good they want to be—but with English they master functionally well to help them do their jobs later in the future especially at an international level.
